Wow! Now I thought everybody liked Mike! But maybe they do and they just don’t like Mike’s clothes. I must have missed this article in GQ Mag on the Iconic Michael Jordan … Dennis Tang wrote the article written below (read) :
Oh, MJ. While there’s a long and storied tradition of athletes and celebrities overstaying their welcomes, His Airness seems to have a thing for tarnishing his legacy even in so-called retirement: From his comeback with the Wizards (we don’t remember that, we must’ve been busy having an aneurysm), to his harassment/ruination of Kwame Brown, to his ownership of the Charlotte Bobcats, which resulted in one of the worst seasons in NBA history last year, the man keeps trying to prove he’s still “got it,” to the detriment of everything he had to begin with.
And that’s all before we get to the part where MJ might be the worst-dressed man in the universe. The man’s style is so bad, you’d think it must be intentionally so, and the annals of bad Jordan style just got another noteworthy moment, when Michael’s choice of cargo pants on a golf course got him kicked out of a Miami Beach country club.
Page 6 of the New York Post also reported :Michael Jordan ruffled feathers at an exclusive Miami Beach country club when he wouldn’t play by their rules. Page Six has exclusively learned the NBA legend hit the links as a guest at swanky La Gorce Country Club — but his gear didn’t fit the club’s old-school rules. “Michael was wearing cargo pants on the course,” said a spy. Jordan’s multipocketed pants were apparently against the dress code that, sources say, dictates that members and guests must be attired in a collared shirt and Bermuda shorts.
And we’re guessing they weren’t the modernized designer versions we’ve been liking around these parts, either. Though, in Jordan’s defense: The club’s dress code reportedly calls for “a collared shirt and Bermuda shorts,” which is like the ultimate race to the bottom of dress codes. So, to break the ice, we here at GQ have a solution to all the sartorial mud-slinging: Kiss and make up, follow these rules, and never use the words “Bermuda” and “code” in the same sentence again. Capisce?
