Kerry Washington married San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomughaon June 24 in Blaine County, Idaho.
Well, according to sports gossip site TerezOwens.com, which was first to get wind of the happy news, Asomugha has been dating annuityVanity Fair’s August 2013 cover girl since last summer.
According to the newlyweds’ marriage certificate, exclusively obtained Wednesday by E! News from Idaho’s office of Vital Statistics, Ezenwa Nnamdi Asomugha swapped vows with Kerry Marisa Washington on June 24 in Hailey, Idaho.
A source confirms to E! that they had been dating for a year.
Washington’s parents, Earl and Valerie, signed the certificate as witnesses, and the groom’s sister, Chisaraokwu Asomugha—a minister in Silver Spring, Md.—officiated.
Congratulations to both the Washington and Asomugha families, coming together in such a romantic, no-one-needs-to-know-but-us fashion!
The 31-year-old three-time Pro Bowl star played with the Oakland Raiders, who drafted him following his graduation from UC Berkeley in 2003, for eight seasons and the Philadelphia Eagles for two before signing with the 49ers in April. The bookish athlete is no stranger to showbiz, either, having scored acting gigs on The Game, Friday Night Lights and Leverage in recent years.
