Apollo Nida Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison For Bank Fraud and Identity Theft

Apollo Nida faced reality today July 8th as a Fulton county Judge sentenced him to serve 8 years in prison for bank fraud and identity theft. Word on the curb is Apollo caught a huge break for “Singing like a Canary” aka SNITCHING per our friends of the family at TMZ. Nida could have been facing 30 years in prison as the maximum as this was not his first offense. TMZ notes:

Nida — who appears on “Real Housewives of Atlanta” with wife Phaedra Parks — was just sentenced to 8 years in federal prison for cashing stolen checks and laundering more than $2.3 mil through phony bank accounts.

The judge who sentenced him today in a Georgia court said Nida did indeed cooperate with federal investigators by spilling criminal secrets … and that’s why he got leniency.

The authorities definitely Nida’s attorney Thomas Bever attempted to get the sentence reduced due to Nida poor upbringing but Pannell felt that since Apollo is 35 years old (a grown Man) this was not a factor. According to our friends over at the AJC:

GRUDGE MATCH Synopsis:

Eminem Debuts at No. 1 on Hot R’n B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart

According to Billboard Nearly 15 years after the No. 62-peaking “Just Don’t Give a F***” introduced Eminem to Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, the Detroit rapper posts his first No. 1 on the list.

“The Monster,” featuring Rihanna, opens at No. 1 as it exploded across all three of the chart’s metrics in its first week of availability. According to Nielsen BDS, the cut reached 36.6 million listeners in the Oct. 30 -­ Nov. 5 tracking week and earned 2.3 million U.S. streams Oct. 28 -­ Nov. 3. Digitally, it sold 327,000 first-week downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan, enough for a No. 1 debut on R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs and Rap Digital Songs

Notably, of Eminem’s so far eight top 10 hits on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, five of them came since the tally revised its methodology in October of 2012. Since then, the chart now incorporates digital sales and streaming data, in addition to monitored airplay. Previous to the revision, Eminem’s singles generally charted much lower on the chart, as the tally was overwhelmingly powered by airplay. In turn, because Eminem’s history at R&B/hip-hop radio is relatively weak, his fortunes on the overall Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart were diminished. In total, Eminem has charted 42 entries on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, stretching back to his 1998 debut with “Just Don’t Give a F***.”

As reported earlier, Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” album is unstoppable, as it will easily debut at No. 1 next week’s Billboard 200 with the second-largest sales week of the year. Industry sources say the set could sell around 750,000 by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Nov. 10.The new Billboard 200’s top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, Nov. 13.Currently, the year’s second-biggest week is owned by Drake’s “Nothing Was the Same,” which entered at No. 1 with 658,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Justin Timberlake’s “The 20/20 Experience” will continue to own 2013’s biggest week, as it opened with 968,000 at No. 1 back in March.If “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” sells between 725,000 and 750,000, it will instantly become one of the year’s top 15-selling albums. At the present, the No. 15 seller is the “Pitch Perfect” soundtrack, which has moved 721,000 in 2013.

I guess its true about what they say about Halloween yielding the largest of profits and which genre of costumes sell the most? Kids costumes. Mariah is now back in the ranks as a photo of the diva’s children sparks her re-entry at No. 24.

 On Halloween Carey snapped a shot of her kids (Monroe and Moroccan) in their costumes (both dressed as Superman) that got 112,000 likes on Instagram. In turn, the number of new followers to Carey’s account on the platform increase by 184% over the previous frame.
