GRUDGE MATCH Synopsis:

Two retired boxers (Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro) decide to settle a long-standing beef by heading back into the ring in this sports comedy from director Peter Segal. Back in the day, Billy “The Kid” McDonnen (De Niro) and Henry “Razor” Sharp (Stallone) were the two biggest bruisers in the Pittsburgh boxing scene. Their fierce rivalry drawing nationwide attention, Razor and The Kid were deadlocked for the title of overall champion when the former announced his retirement just before the decisive 1983 match that would have determined the supreme champion. Three decades later, enterprising boxing promoter Dante Slate Jr. (Kevin Hart) lures the aging pugilists back into the ring for the fight that everyone has been waiting for. Meanwhile, when Razor and The Kid see each other for the first time in 30 years, the cameras are rolling as tempers suddenly flare. In no time that unscheduled scuffle goes viral, prompting both fighters to resume their intensive training in a bid to be the one who delivers the knockout blow during the highly anticipated bout. Alan Arkin, Kim Basinger and Jon Bernthal also costar.

Everyone seemed really happy (I think 100 episodes of anything) as an actor would make me laugh. “Brad James let us hold a lil something buddy!”

This past weekend, Bishop T.D. Jakes brought his MegaFest inspirational event to Dallas which included various events featuring Oprah Winfrey, Steve Harvey and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, to name a few.

One of the many highlights came from the hands of Tyler Perry — literally. Perry, who attended Sunday morning service at Jakes’ Potters House church to announce his $1 million donation towards the influential spiritual leader’s developing youth center, took to the mic and towards the end of a rousing speech placed his hand on Jakes‘ head and blessed him.

“I love to give,” Perry said to those in attendance. “I’ve been a giver all my life. And when people have given to you, and sewn into you. And God has touched them and given you favor… See, they don’t understand it where I come from. They don’t understand it in Hollywood, but I’m going to tell you something about the blood of Jesus.”

So we were sitting in service, and I leaned up towards him and I said, ‘I’ve just been touched to give a million dollars,’ so when you got up here and said, ‘I need a million dollars,’ I said ‘God, I don’t know what you are doing but I heard your voice.’ (starts speaking in tongues.)

I’m gonna tell you right now, when you hear the voice of God you move. Don’t worry about your enemy. Don’t worry about your hater. He will bless you. He will lift you. Sometimes you spend too much time worrying about your haters, you spend so much time worrying about people talking about you, but what you need to understand is that the bible says, ‘In order for you to be blessed, your haters have to be present.’ How do I know that? The book of Palms said ‘He prepareth a table before me in the presence of my enemy.’ So in order for me to eat, they have to be present. So God bless you Bishop.

Essence Atkins seems to be doing the wrong thing in Hollywood or maybe she’s gotten bitten by the Marketing or Movie Director’s Bug. Seems she is now the authority on what works and what doesn’t work in Box Office Films. Must have been all those Box Office Hits of her Own that she starred in. It’s really not smart to piss off Tyler Perry Fans seeing as you are out promoting a Home DVD movie and most of Tyler Perry’s fans support the DVD world. After his “Failed Casting Tricks Don’t Work– according to Essence Atkins quotes to Sister to Sister Magazine ” seems then Tyler Perry goes on to make millions of dollars in DVD sales through his distribution with Wallmart

Today was very busy at the Cobb Theatre where a private invite only screening took place of Tyler Perry’s new movie “Temptation”. A very rich NeNe Leakes interviewed with E! Online as they did a live U-streamed live. Nene Leakes says she never asked anyone to “hook her up with a job”, including her close friend “Tyler Perry.” Nene Leakes stated “when Tyler Perry finds a role that is suitable for her , she is sure she will get that phone call.” however the interviewer made a comment “Since you are very rich, I’m sure you will be just fine in the mean time.” “RICH #itch” Nene corrected her.

Alex Cross Comes in a #5 in the Box Office “Thanks to the Support of Tyler Perry Fans”

There are so many angles I could “go there” on those who have negative comments about the numbers and Tyler Perry’s association with this movie. Let’s start with #1 Track Record. Tyler Perry has a Track Record in Box Office Numbers that range over $18Million opening weekend. The way I looked at this great movie that was not Written or Produced by Tyler Perry is a) perhaps the directors and producers should have taken this into account that perhaps they needed a Tyler Perry Hand in some of this. OR this could have been a situation where Tyler Perry merely wanted to come in as an actor. #2 The past Alex Cross movies when Alex Cross was popping was still in the 13mi range. #3 I think the movie would have done WORST with No Tyler Perry. He did the producers/directors a favor accepting the role.  When research on the demographics was done according to BOX OFFICE MOJO , appears the movie faired as well as it did thanks to the Tyler Perry supporters and had the Director of the Movie and the Alex Cross fans pitched in and purchased tickets , seems the numbers would have doubled. In fifth place, Alex Cross opened to a disappointing $11.75 million from 2,539 locations. That’s the worst opening ever for a movie starring Tyler Perry, and second-worst for a movie he’s associated with behind Daddy’s Little Girls ($11.2 million), which burned off some demand with a Wednesday opening. The debut is also lower than previous Alex Cross movies Kiss the Girls ($13.2 million) and Along Came a Spider ($16.7 million), even though those movies each were released over a decade ago.

The demographics tell a big part of the story here. The audience was 60 percent women, 68 percent over the age of 35, and 74 percent African American, all of which aligns with the typical Tyler Perry crowd. This suggests that Perry fans made up a large portion of moviegoers, while the legions of fans of the character Alex Cross and author James Patterson opted to skip the movie.

Sherman Hemsley Tribute From Tyler Perry Studios (His Final Acting Debut) on House of Payne

I remember being on the set the last day of taping the House of Payne with Sherman Hemsley and I couldn’t stop thinking of how much energy he had. He was acting exactly the same as when I used to watch the Jefferson’s. I think it was great that Mr Tyler Perry acknowledged his passing by creating this tribute to him.

Speaking of House Of Payne, Sherman Hemsley’s last acting job was on an episode of House Of Payne where he reprised his George Jefferson character. He and Marla Gibbs were on the show and they were saying how they were the only two original living cast members from the Jeffersons. Sherman brought joy to millions, and I want to thank him for all the laughter he brought to our house. I celebrate your life, my friend. May you rest in peace.
